Road traffic injuries are among Liberia’s most pressing public safety challenges. The Liberia National Police recorded more than 14,500 crashes between 2008 and 2018, and the World Health Organization reports that annual road traffic fatalities rose from 175 in 2018 to 232 in 2021—an increase of over 30%. In response, the Ministry of Transport (MoT), with funding through the National Road Fund of Liberia, engaged Road Safety Action International (RSAI) to deliver three complementary consultancy assignments addressing the legal, human, and vehicle dimensions of road safety.
